Curriculum

Geometry is a full-year course offered as part of the mathematics curriculum.  This course develops logical thinking and visualization skills.  It aims to acquaint the student with the following topics:  nature of sets, points, lines, planes, angles, and their measurement, the study of related three dimensional geometric figures, congruent and similar triangles, the Pythagorean theorem, simple right triangle trigonometry, circles and arcs, areas of polygons, and areas and volumes of solids.

Goals

The curriculum is designed to help our students be successful and engaged citizens in our ever-changing world.  Our goal is to meet and exceed the goals of the New Jersey Learning Standards.  Our goal is to inspire students to make sense, to question, and to think critically about the world of geometry and beyond.  We hope students develop insight to see geometry as connected to other math disciplines and the world around us.
